Rahal put on probation for clash

Ganassi driver Graham Rahal has been placed on probation for the next six events after a post-race investigation found him to be responsible for the accident that took himself and Marco Andretti out of Sunday's IndyCar race in Long Beach. Andretti was attempting to pass Rahal on lap 22 when Rahal appeared to move over slightly on the Andretti Autosport car, resulting in Andretti running into Rahal's right-rear wheel and being launched into the air. "Due to the inability of the #38 car to continue the race, a review of the on-track actions of Graham Rahal became a post-race issue," said Beaux Barfield, IndyCar president of competition and series race director.
