The 2012 NASCAR Sprint All-Star race will feature a revised format, rewarding the winners of each segment plus putting a premium on strategy before the final sprint. The event will be run over 90 laps split first into four 20-lap segments, where the leader at the end of each one will be allowed a place among the top-four in the order when the field makes a final mandatory pitstop that will dictate restarting positions for the final 10-lap sprint
