Nissan recalls Juke, Infiniti M and QX for possible fuel leaks
Filed under: Sedan, SUV, Recalls, Safety, Crossover, Infiniti, Nissan, Luxury
Nissan North America is recalling 2011 and 2012 Nissan Juke, Infiniti M and Infiniti QX models over a fuel pressure sensor issue. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it's possible that the sensors weren't tightened properly, which could lead to the sensor coming loose over time and an increased risk of a fire due to leaking fuel.
The recall begins on March 19. Nissan will notify owners, who can take their vehicles to the dealer to be repaired free of charge. A bulletin from NHTSA that has more information is after the jump.

Video: NHRA dragster's fuel pump in action
Filed under: Motorsports, Videos, Racing
A top fuel dragster makes impressive use of a 500-cubic-inch engine block machined from a solid chunk of aluminum. That 10,000-horsepower engine propels a 2,300-pound car from the starting tree to 100 mph in less than a second. And it needs a lot of fuel to do it.
Some visitors to the NHRA Museum caught a dragster fuel pump in action. The red Lego-like contraption at the lower left is a Waterman Super Bertha fuel pump, set up to deliver more than eight gallons per minute at wide-open throttle to each of the eight cylinders. You can see what the resulting jet of nitromethane looks like in the video after the jump.

Video: New Ram ad joins Chevy in knocking Ford F-150
Filed under: Truck, Marketing/Advertising, Videos, Work, Ram
It's probably a toss-up as to what's worse about life at the top: the loneliness or the rocks that everyone throws at you. Chevrolet recently took aim at Ford with a humorous Super Bowl commercial that not only took the unusual step of calling Ford out by name, but made claims about the segment that Ford didn't find funny at all.
Ram is next up to lob a light-duty boulder with a commercial that says if you take one of its trucks and make it less capable, then you end up with a Ford. For what it's worth, such claims are, rather obviously, directed at specific trims with specific options and packages.
We imagine that eventually the sleeping giant, Ford, will awaken and respond. For now, you can find the provocation after the jump.

Official: Jeep bringing pair of black and white "production-intent" concepts to Geneva
Filed under: Concept Cars, SUV, Geneva Motor Show, Jeep
We may think of Jeep as an American brand - and indeed it is - but of all the Chrysler divisions that have come and gone over the years, Jeep is arguably the best established. So when the doors open in a couple of weeks at the Geneva Motor Show, the iconic off-road brand will have a few new model variants to show potential European customers.
First up is the unique Grand Cherokee pictured above. Labeled a "production-intent sports concept," it's similar to the black example released in Houston and Washington late last month, but instead of the Darth Vader look, Jeep has taken more of a Storm Trooper approach with the European version, and also fitted it with the 3.0-liter common-rail diesel V6 with Multijet II technology borrowed from corporate cousin Fiat.
The murdered-out look is reserved here for the special Compass, also dubbed "production-intent." With the grille, lighting surrounds, roof rails and 18-inch wheels all blacked out, the smaller of Jeeps has a sinister look.
Finally, Jeep is using the occasion of the Swiss expo for the European launch of the Wrangler Mountain edition, which mirrors the version already available Stateside with a black hood and fuel cap, dark grey wheels and grille and five color choices including the bright green pictured. Follow the jump for full details and scope out the high-res images in the gallery for a closer look.

Video: Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Filed under: Classics, Sedan, Etc., Videos, Pontiac, Humor
There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.

Spy Shots: Porsche 911 GT3 spotted testing before earning its wings
Filed under: Spy Photos, Coupe, Performance, Porsche
Now that the 991-series Porsche 911 has been unleashed on the world, it's time for the other twenty-ish variants of the company's halo car to be unveiled. We've seen the 911 Cabriolet, and our spies have caught the Turbo out testing. Now, the even hotter 911 GT3 has been caught in its early stages of development (read: before it gets it's big ol' wing out back).
Mum's the word on exactly what sort of insane power the GT3's flat-six will produce, though reports have suggested numbers as high as 450 horsepower. That said, there have been conflicting reports about just how that power will be sent to the wheels - recent news suggests that both a manual and dual-clutch setup are being tested, but that only one will make it to production. (There can only be one!) Porsche officials believe that the PDK will win, though we'll wait until we get final confirmation before cutting off our left feet. In any case, we'll wait for more details to roll out throughout the year.
