Video: Man reunited with his first Harley after more than 30 years

Ed Church bought his first motorcycle, a 1958 Harley-Davidson, when he was a sophomore in high school. He rode it and learned to dearly love it over the next 13 years, and then sold it when his daughter was born. Like many of us who've been in the same position, Church regretted the decision he made to sell the bike, practical though it may have been, and spent many years wondering what he'd do if he could only find it again.

This eBay video (part of its new eBay Thanks You series) may be just a tiny bit over-the-top in its tenderly scored and sepia-toned scenes, but it still tells a pretty great story. Motoring enthusiasts and romantics alike, be warned, the video below may jerk a tear or two.

GoPro Hero3

GoPro AppThe minds at GoPro have been busy lately. Earlier this month, the company pulled the wraps off its long-awaited app for the iPhone and iPad. When combined with the optional WiFi BacPac for the Hero2, the application can link to multiple cameras to change settings on the fly, as well as preview video and photos without having to remove the camera from its case or mount. Even better, the software is free, though GoPro will ask you to pony up around $60 for the WiFi add on. While the app is only available for Apple devices at the moment, GoPro says an Android version is in the works.

That's exciting and all, but not nearly as much as word that the new Hero3 has officially hit the market. The Hero3 Black Edition is a full 30 percent smaller than its predecessor, which means its also a quarter lighter. Designers made the gadget twice as powerful, though, building in 1440p video at 48 frames per second, 1080p at 60 fps, and 720p at 120 fps. Even more surprising, the camera can click off 12-megapixel photos at a staggering 30 shots per second. WiFi is now built in, and the Black Edition includes the handy WiFi remote. Check out the videos below to see the new gear in action while we update our holiday wish lists.

Video: Highly modified Honda CBR1000RR hits 265 mph at Bonneville

While James Hoegh was running his Confederate X132 Hellcat Combat prototype to a record-setting 172.211 miles per hour at the BUB Motorcycle Trials on the Bonneville Salt Flats, Honda moto tuner Al Lamb was preparing his own attempt on a very different bike. His 400-horsepower Honda CBR1000 is a sit-on - as opposed to lie-down or fully streamlined in which the rider is hidden - but otherwise is about as faired as Hoegh's Confederate is naked.

Lamb ran a timed mile across the salt at an average of 265 mph, entering the mile at 264.647 mph and exiting at 265.795 mph. If that speed is ratified by the FIM oversight body, it would be a record for a sit-on bike. And even if it isn't, it's a serious chunk of wind-in-your-face speed no matter how much fairing is involved. The video proof is below, with fly-by shots that can only be classified as "ridiculous."

Video: Watch Nissan DeltaWing's scary crash in Atlanta

Yesterday, we caught word on Twitter that the Nissan DeltaWing had crashed during testing for this weekend's Petit Le Mans. Now Nissan has provided us with some frightening footage of how the incident went down. The important thing is that driver Gunnar Jeannette is okay, but this is yet another setback for Nissan and its radically experimental prototype racecar.

Just like the DeltaWing's crash at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, this wreck was a result of the car being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Heading into Turn 11 at Road Atlanta, Jeannette was passing the Green Hornet Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, competing in the GT-Challenge class, when the Porsche veered into the side of the DeltaWing right in front of the left rear wheel. This crash might bring in to question not just concerns over the racer's visibility to other drivers, it might also raise stability concerns for the wedge-shaped car since it appears the PIT-maneuver-like contact with the Porsche would have just sent most cars into a spin rather than flipping over.

The good news for the DeltaWing is that Nissan's Steve Yaeger, technology and motorsport communications manager, says the damage wasn't that severe, and it is hoping to have the car back on the track today.

Scroll down to watch the frightening crash.

Video: Plug & Play Screamer two-level vehicle horn concept looking for support [w/poll]

Inventor Peter Olt had a revelation when he was nearly hit by a car while riding his motorcycle, for lack of a horn loud enough to get the attention of the offending vehicle's driver. From this incident, the Screaming Banshee was born.

The Banshee is a custom two-mode horn; one setting is essentially a "polite" volume affair, while the second (activated by holding the horn down longer), is a siren-like wail that justifies the unit's supernatural name.

Apparently the original Screaming Banshee found enough success that Olt believes a smaller, easier to install version will open up more market share for his fledgling company. Enter the Plug & Play Screamer, and a new project page on micro-funding site Indiegogo.

With only one bolt and four wire connections between you and installation, the new Screamer is said to be pretty simple to install, and is seemingly perfect as a safety device for motorcycle and scooter riders everywhere. It is also, based on the video introduction to the product, something that could be hugely annoying in the wrong hands.

Check out the full information on the Plug & Play Screamer's Indiegogo page, or scroll down below to watch Olt explain it himself. But first, turn your computer's volume down - trust us.
